6 months ago I wanted to challenge myself with animation since I was just starting out and learning how to not make it look really really really bad lol, and so I decided for anything to be worth watching I would have to figure out certain mechanics within animation and I began Old Skool, which was originally just for me to test out and learn new (to me) animation techniques, but I quickly had so much fun with it that it kept growing. It started as me trying to teach myself how to do moving backgrounds, and eventually, a loose plot developed around it and it became a full story. Flash forward 6 months of me writing, getting everyone I knew to shuffle into my room and record voice lines, and long nights hunched over my drawing tablet scribbling away into madness, I finished the animation portion in full tonight. I still have to do some audio and sound design before its complete, but the full 15-minute animation portion is finally complete, and I couldn't be more proud of it. Both in standards of what I've done so far, and it being my biggest animation project to date, I plan on launching it soon, but I wanna take a moment to thank anyone who has helped directly with Old Skool, or anyone who has just supported me on Newgrounds.
It feels kinda surreal looking at 6 months of work and being in the stages of putting the final bow on it. But half a year, lots of learning and improvement, and a few software crashes that lost entire files, its finally entering the very final stages, and I am proud of myself and this animation.
I'll make another post when it actually goes live, but until then thank you all for the support, it really means a lot to me and I appreciate it so much
Also thanks to all the bands who's albums I listened to multiple times over and over lol
